Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron crowned Miss America 2010

Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron has been crowned Miss America 2010 after telling the audience to “take away the TV, take away the video games, set some standards for our children!” in order to solve childhood obesity.
Making the top five in 2010 – along with Miss California, Kristy Cavinder, Miss Tennessee, Stefanie Wittler, Miss Louisiana, Katherine Putnam and Miss Kentucky, Mallory Ervin, Cameron took out the top prize of US$50,000, plus the all-important crown at the annual event in Las Vegas late Saturday local time.
The pageant started out with 53 contestants but Cameron, from Fredericksburg, Virgina beat her opponents after a series of competitions in swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview categories.
Miss California was the first runner up, while Miss Louisiana took out third spot.
The competition featured representatives from all 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
